From June 21 to 24, 2022, the EXRIMA Summer School and Conference took place at the Ruhr University Bochum. Young and established researchers discussed current issues in experimental accounting research, both methodologically and in terms of content. The event was generously financially supported by the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA).
The 2022 EXRIMA was co-hosted by Prof. Eddy Cardinaels (Tilburg University & KU Leuven), whose experience includes many years as an editor of top international journals in the field of accounting and controlling. Eleven PhD students and Assistant Professors from Belgium and Germany participated in the Summer School.
During the subsequent conference, authors from Germany, the Netherlands and the USA presented the impressive range of experimental controlling research. Highly relevant and practical research results were examined in more detail, for example, on risk policy in internal reporting, behavioral effects in the context of performance appraisal, and the effects of using artificial intelligence in performance appraisals and biases.

The next EXRIMA event will take place at Justus Liebig University Giessen in 2023.
